After selling a 2008 Challenger SRT8 and all my other toys, I started look for a big block 68 Charger with buddy seat and auto on the column. One late summer Sunday afternoon a friend of mine called me and said there was a 68 Charger R/T in the Valley Trader located in Winchester. We went and looked at it that day. When we arrived and checked the numbers it was not an R/T (darn) but I was ok with that since I was not looking for a R/T or numbers matching Charger. The car had a bad miss and no power brakes and the body was wavy but not a lot of rust. Since the car was not an R/T and had a lot of small issues I made a offer that he had to think about. The following weekend a deal was made and I brought home my Charger. The 505 HP (550 ft-lb torque) 440 motor and 727 trans were new along with the drive shaft, wiring and Flow Master exhaust. The 8 3/4 Sure-Grip 3.91 really make it feel nice but she needs a higher gear for driving down the highway. My goal is to get everything working as it should from the factory then start upgrades like 4 wheels disc brakes and maybe a new rack and pinion front end. Once all work is done then off to the body shop for a nice silver paint job, Black vinyl top, black tail strips, and a black interior. I am also thinking about changing the rims to Magnum 500.
