Michael’s 1970 Plymouth Satellite
This 1970 Satellite actually belongs to my son Michael.  He is 9 years old and has had the car since he was 4 years old.
We had gone to a car show where it turned out that a friend of mine was judging.  While talking, I mentioned to him that I was keeping my eyes open for a project car for my son. I wanted a car that basically needed everything so I could teach my son how to work on it as he grew up.  Informing me that he had just the thing, he invited me over to his house.  What he showed me was a very bad looking 1970 Satellite.   The car had been stripped to bare metal for 9 years and was heavily surface rusted.  The body was full of holes where rust had been cut out, but no patches had ever been installed.  The interior was junk and full of trash and the original 318 engine was locked up from sitting so long.  My son took one look at the car and fell in love with it.
After promising that I would never sell it, race it or part it out, my friend was all too happy to give the car to my son at no charge, even going so far as to pay for the tow to deliver it to my house.  Since that day, we have completely filled all the rust holes, replaced the interior and cleaned up the body.  I was even able to free up the engine and it now runs like a Swiss watch.  As you can see in the pictures, he is taking great pride in learning how to fix up his own car.
